The Balvenie DoubleWood single malt whisky gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour and the final few months in our tuns allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously.
GOLD MEDAL: The Scotch Whisky Masters GOLD MEDAL: International Spirits Challenge
Gristy, supple nuttiness intertwined with spices. Honeyed sultanas and grapes. Hugely inviting. Sweet with good body. The bourbon characters develop; gentle spice with a little vanilla, a hint of balancing peat lurking quietly in the substrata. Dried fruit too, combining with nuts, nutmeg, cinnamon, back into the bourbon notes - so well integrated.
