Château du Cèdre | 'Juveniles' Cahors Malbec
Description

Château du Cèdre “Juvéniles” is a vibrant and approachable Malbec from Cahors, offering a fresher, lighter expression of the region’s signature grape. Crafted to be juicy, silky, and effortlessly drinkable, it highlights pure fruit, soft structure, and the charm of organically farmed vineyards.

About the Producer:
Château du Cèdre is one of Cahors’ most respected estates, known for elevating Malbec to its highest potential. Run by the Verhaeghe family, the winery practices organic farming, low yields, and gentle cellar work to express the true character of their limestone and clay terroirs. The “Juvéniles” cuvée was originally created in partnership with Paris’ iconic Juveniles wine bar, reflecting a style meant to be fresh, friendly, and immediately enjoyable.

Grape/Blend:
100% Malbec (Côt)

Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Bright ruby-purple with youthful vibrancy.
Aroma: Fresh blackberry, plum, and raspberry with hints of violets, spice, and gentle earthiness.
Palate: Juicy and smooth with soft tannins. Flavors of dark berries, black cherry, and subtle pepper flow into a lively, fruit-forward finish. Lighter and more lifted than traditional Cahors, yet still showing regional depth.

Vol.:
13–13.5% (varies by vintage)

Country and Origin:
France – Southwest, Cahors AOC

Food Pairing:
Serve at 14–16°C. Excellent with grilled meats, duck, charcuterie, burgers, roasted vegetables, or hearty pastas. Its soft structure and bright fruit make it an ideal all-purpose red for both casual meals and dinner gatherings.

Why People Love It:
Fans appreciate “Juvéniles” for its combination of Cahors depth and modern drinkability. It’s fruity, silky, and easygoing -perfect for those who love Malbec but prefer a fresher, more vibrant style that’s crowd-friendly and versatile.
