El-Sabban Wajd is a vibrant Lebanese red from the Bekaa Valley (Ammiq), made with minimal intervention and crafted to be juicy, textural, and refreshingly drinkable—great slightly chilled.
About the Producer:
El-Sabban is the nomadic, natural-leaning project of winemaker Rami Bassil El-Sabban. Working across Lebanon with like-minded cellars, he focuses on organic fruit, gentle extractions, and unfined, unfiltered bottlings.
Grape/Variety:
100% Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Medium ruby, light-to-medium body.
Aroma: Bright red berries (currant, pomegranate) with citrus zest, herbal notes of thyme, and a savory hint of black olive.
Palate: Lively and textural with crunchy red fruit, a subtle tannic grip, and mouth-watering acidity; best enjoyed slightly chilled for extra snap.
Vol.:
14.5%
Country and Origin:
Lebanon – Bekaa Valley (Ammiq), high-altitude vineyards ~1,050 m
Food Pairing:
Serve lightly chilled (12–14 °C) with mezze (muhammara, grilled halloumi), za’atar roast chicken, charcuterie, tomato-based pastas, or grilled salmon. Versatile with herb-driven dishes.
Why People Love It:
A high-altitude Lebanese Pinot Noir with natural winemaking flair—energetic, fragrant, and easy to drink, yet layered and distinctive.
What the Critics Say:
“Bursting with energy… crunchy currant, pomegranate, citrus, thyme and black olive… highly textural, medium-light in body with a hint of tannin. Enjoy slightly chilled.” – Wild Wines
