Domaine De La Borde | Arbois-Pupillin Vin "Jaune"
Description

Domaine de la Borde “Arbois-Pupillin Vin Jaune” is an exceptional and traditional expression of the Jura’s most iconic wine style. Aged under a natural veil of yeast (sous voile) for over six years, it showcases remarkable depth, nutty complexity, and the unmistakable character that defines true Vin Jaune.

About the Producer:
Domaine de la Borde, led by winemaker Julien Mareschal, is a small, meticulously farmed estate based in Pupillin-often considered the heart of Jura’s finest terroirs. With certified organic farming, low yields, and minimal-intervention winemaking, Mareschal creates highly expressive, terroir-driven wines. The Vin Jaune is the domaine’s most patient and prestigious bottling, crafted with absolute precision.

Grape/Blend:
100% Savagnin

Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Deep golden yellow with shimmering amber reflections.
Aroma: Powerful aromas of walnut, curry leaf, dried fruits, spice, and saline minerality, with hints of roasted almond and subtle oxidative depth.
Palate: Intense, dry, and beautifully layered. Rich flavors of toasted nuts, saffron, preserved lemon, and baked apple expand across the palate, supported by firm acidity and the signature savory, oxidative complexity of Vin Jaune. The finish is long, structured, and profoundly elegant.

Vol.:
14–15% (varies by vintage)

Country and Origin:
France – Jura, Arbois-Pupillin

Food Pairing:
Serve slightly cool at 14–16°C. This is the classic partner for Comté cheese aged 24+ months. Also exceptional with chicken in Vin Jaune and morels, mushroom dishes, aged cheeses, creamy sauces, smoked fish, or rich autumnal flavors. Its depth and structure make it a remarkable gastronomic wine.

Why People Love It:
Wine lovers cherish this Vin Jaune for its incredible complexity, long élevage, and unmistakable character. It’s a rare, age-worthy Jura benchmark—intense, profound, and unforgettable, appealing to serious collectors and adventurous drinkers alike.
