Founded in 1825, Ben Nevis of the Gaelic “Scary Mountain” is one of the few bicentenary distilleries. Located on the mainland of Scotland's west coast, in the shadow of Britain's highest mountain from which it takes its name, the distillery cultivates mystery. Known for its aging in old sherry casks, the distillery knows how to be the ambassador of a profile that is both fruity (mango, passion fruit) and more wild and rustic. This 5-year-old Ben Nevis aged in barrels from Refill Butt is the perfect illustration of this. A perfect whiskey to apprehend single malts of great complexity, and which best illustrates the concept of aromatic paradox.
